Dr. Ramya Swamy is a fellowship-trained glaucoma and anterior segment surgeon with over 15 years of experience. She specializes in the treatment of complex cataracts as well as the medical and surgical management of glaucoma. Dr. Swamy received her bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland and completed her Medical degree at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2015. During her medical training, she also obtained a master’s in public health. Dr. Swamy specializes in robotic assisted cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). She performs surgery at Lakeview Surgery Center in Bowie, Md and Columbia Parkway Surgery Center in Columbia, Md. She is also an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she volunteers her time teaching and mentoring the residents. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her dog, Iris.
